I’m Big in Saudi Arabia
If you’ll permit me a moment of self horn-tooting, I was recently interviewed by a Saudi journalist about a previous post I did on Why Saudi Arabia’s Players Don’t Go Abroad. While he may have slightly overestimated my knowledge of Saudi soccer, I am honored nonetheless to appear in the online edition of Aleqtesadia newspaper, which is an financial-focused publication. You must be doing a good job when foreign journalists are reading your work. The online translation link does not work for me. I am curious what they asked you about. Did he(I assume a journalist is a man in SA) think you portrayed the Saudi system unjustly?

Micah - I don’t know the online translation isn’t working for you - it works fine for me. The journalist, who was indeed a man, didn’t think I portrayed anything unfairly. If anything, he took me for far more of an expert on Saudi soccer than I really am.

Fantastic. A magazine piece I wrote last year was picked up by an Indonesian newspaper columnist–I still have no clear idea what he said about it, but there was kind of a weird thrill in seeing my name surrounded by incomprehensible characters. I can only imagine how much better it is when you were a willing participant in the exchange!

Omedetou/congrats!! They need to add you to the list at Annapolis next week for the peace talks!! You could………talk and play some soccer between everyone to add some levity you know. Now if you could please solve the alternative fuel source problem so we wouldn’t have such a twisted relationship with the Saudis that would be great, thanks in advance DK.
