still we arent meant to let the environment subdue us, as its we who are to subdue the environment and sustain it. yes i like my hens free range but some animal lovers just seem to like being dominated by the animals they love, to me thats a wasted life. shame on savethekangaroo.com for using todays age of Relativism to force david beckham into the way u want, the guy is an absolute airhead who never thinks for himself. well glad to see puma isnt on the hate list

Before I ended up here, I was just viewing http://www.savethekangaroo.com/index.shtml

I am very repulsed over the slaughter of these animals. I wonder if the Australian government even cares how the rest of the world might view them.

As for sporting equipment ... Seems rather strange we allow use of dangerous materials in our bottles, household cookware, our cleaning supplies and much more ... yet we can't seem to accept man made material ... such are rubber and fake leather to be used on our sporting goods. If they rather stay with Kangaroo material, then why not open ranches, raise them for that purpose and harvest them humanely.

Chris - Craig Johnston, interestingly, is quoted on the Viva! website saying ""The original model [of the Predator] was an all-rubber shoe. Synthetics, rubbers and new materials are definitely the future of football boots. I don’t agree with killing kangaroos." Apparently, he lost out on that front.

Very interesting article, David!

I remember former Liverpool player Craig Johnston coming up with the idea for the Predator boot. All those little pieces of rubber stuck on the top to give the ball better contact with the boot.

It seemed like a good idea at the time, but I think many people soon realised that it was better to have a boot that was more naturally shaped like your own foot. To that end, kangaroo leather was the best option for it.
